They're selling a 22 year old bike for $550, which probably cost $600 new in 1986. Ok, so they put on a pair of bull-horn handlebars and some fresh bar tape... that doesn't make it worth within fifty dollars of its original price.
I'm guessing at the original price, of course, but in 1986, $600 could buy a lot of bike. I have a friend who bought a new Cannondale in '86 (our Sr. year of high school). I remember he paid about $600 for his. As for how this one compares to his, I have no recollection other than that it was white.
