It is not that I am attached that I can not lock it up outside. I use my lock frequently when I make trips to other buildings to drop off papers and what not. The problem is fixed gear bikes are blowing up on campus, I think we are up to close to 40 something kids now. In the beginning there was maybe 5 of us. More people know what they are and know they can easily sell them. We had a professor's $3k+ Trek road bike stolen during class hours around 1pm. Bike theft is a huge issue here, I would rather just bring my bike with me and call it day.

My class sizes are all 25 or less students. The professors are on a more personal basis with me, which is probably why they dont mind.
