Got my fixed gear at the end of September. Have had days where I just ride it around the neighborhood for a few minutes, but also have had 40 mile days as well. It is getting too cold for my liking (I know, I'm a wuss, HTFU and all that jazz) but on days where I do ride, it is always over 10 miles, and usually over 20.

Pics are a must, even if it isn't anything special. And yes, this habit will eat through a wallet just as fast, if not faster than your local dope fiend.
