Being an engineer, can you tell me the difference in design between, say, a 24 hole Velocity Aerohead and a 32 hole one?
But I do agree that they push the envelope on the rims, much less now than they did before (that's why we don't see 300 gram aluminum rims anymore). However, when they're pushing the envelope for a 200+ lb rider or a world class track sprinter, you get a bit of wiggle room if you weigh 140 and have weak legs.
As for "no" to the last, are you calling me a liar in saying that I know people who did it without problem? Or just that you disagree with the practice?
