Hell, Cervelo does the same thing with their $5500 S2, nice components but then there's the Ultegra cassette (idiots, what's the OEM difference between the D.A. and Ultegra cassettes, $30?) and throw away boat anchor friggin Shimano wheels I wouldn't put on my crappiest rain bike. I'm upgrading the wheels and the cassette. But if they had the nice wheels and D.A. cassette, the MSRP on the bike would be $6K +, but that's what all the competing models from Cdale, Trek, etc. cost in that range anyway. Go figure.

Not that I'm doubting you for a moment here but do you really care that much about having a DA cassette for the sake of 35 grams? Enough not to just ride the Ultegra one until it wears out and then get a DA?
