How about some small GPS tracking device tucked inside the handlebars or something? That might be cool! Video tape them, and then track them to their dump off spot.
However the bad parts as mentioned are possibility of getting stabbed or shot, plus a bike that thieves will want but you wont mind losing in case something goes wrong.
