Not really. Every person has their own priorities and a different bike to meet their needs. Riding fixed is fun to me, hence it makes the most sense for me based on my needs (ie: fast, simple, fun)


I used to look down on SS riders when I was stupid and new to learning about fixed gears, but I've since realized that was a childish attitude to have and made me something of a dork to have such an attitude. Nowadays I couldn't care less what someone else is doing as long as they aren't crashing into me
