Yep, as others have said, great post. Chrome can become tarnished and then the tarnished bits can rust, so it is usually a good idea to clear coat chrome. Unless you are really good about keeping the bike clean, that is.

jet - What would you use to clear coat, and how would you prep the frame? Honest question. I've looked around and those classic and vintage guys seem to think clear coat won't adhere properly to a chrome surface. You don't think a polish/wax would provide enough protection?
