Grim,

Sorry to hear you got clipped. This might be useful for you if you want to cut through Piedmont/Barrett between Canton & Bells Ferry. I forgot what is that subdivision called but it's fairly safe and got some good climbs.

Here you go:

Worst part of heading east is that screwed up bike lane at 575. Jackholes trying to drag race traffic in the right lane getting on 575 south. I ride right down the middle of that lane and make them get over. If I get in that bike lane I have them passing me on both sides and cutting me off. The rest of it is not so bad. I usualy try to run about 25mph to bells ferry and I can hit 38 headed down the hill if I peddle like mad (42 big ring and 26 tires SUCKS! but my new bike is on 700x38's and 44 top ring. I have a triple with a 52 big ring but it has a 160mm crank. Should be able to get over 40mph now with the 44 might get over 45 with the 52.

Headed west I ride the sidewalk most of the time to get past that blind curve coming up the hill from Noonday creek. I got clipped with a mirror in the curve once.
