Sunburst,

Thanks for your help. Rain doesn't bother tme hat much. Good ole south has trained me well on riding out nasty hurricanes and thunderstorms. Actually it's the safest time to ride because Atlanta drivers would get panicked and slammed on brakes suddenly to cause massive traffic back ups.

I rode in today as well. I was having too much fun on the light drizzle that I even rode all the way south on San Tamos Creek trail. Apparently the the trail gets blockaded from Scott Blvd to Cabrillo Rd for some good paving and bypass bridge constructions. See picture below:

Here's my favorite ride currently: Old La Honda to Skyline, then down La Honda to Woodside.

You could start at Hwy 280 and Page Mill Rd. There's a park and ride spot there. Cycle a couple hundred yards west on Page Mill, turn right on Arastradero, then after a mile or two, left on Alpine up the hill (at this point, you're on the famous Portola Valley loop, known locally as the "loop"). Take a right on Portola Valley, left on Old La Honda, right/north on Skyline (hwy 35), right/east on La Honda (hwy 84), etc. Coming down La Honda is a total thrill ride. You'll eventually end up a Robert's grocery store, a stopping/refueling point for cyclists. Across the street is a bakery, another cyclists hangout. Check out google maps for details to get back to your car. Type this is for the starting point: Page Mill Rd & Arastradero Rd, Los Altos, Santa Clara, California 94022

Have fun, and enjoy the weather (not today's, but you know what I mean).

Oh yeah, be sure to explore the roads around Stevens Creek Damn in the foothills above Cupertino. google this: Stevens Creek 72-007 Dam, Santa Clara, California 95014

I like Stevens Canyon Rd. You can follow it to Mt. Eden (left) or Stevens Canyon/Creek Rd (right) which leads to Redwood Gulch Rd (a helluva climb!) and Hwy 9. Then left down to Saratoga, a nice ride.
