If you opt to swap-out the stem from 1" to 1 X 1/8" with a stem-converter, may I suggest the Ritchey Adjustable Stem? It has a nearly infinite possibles of stem-rise for your comfort. And it's utterly solid. Unless you looked at it, you'd never know it was a two-piece structure. This way, when you feel stiffer, maybe, and need a different angle - it's there for you.
