No, it's not good to get "hung up" on standover. That hurts. But it also hurts when your handlebar position is too low for you.

A bit of a slope on the top tube is one thing, but the point is, it can be difficult on a true compact frame to get the handlebar position (height) correct, that is, comfortable; and you end up with a foot or more of seatpost. I personally am not a fan of such things.

If you plan on racing, OK, but otherwise ... well, I've said it before.
