No. You miss the point. The point is compassion and responsibility. Does our society have a responsibility to provide equal access to those who are unable to drive to a handicap space? Should governments and/or public businesses be required to bear some of the costs for providing this access?
You employ your usual tactic of reducing every argument to the most absurd level. Nobody is saying that fixed route bus service must drop people off at every store entrance. But, IMO, they should provide access to very popular destinations like malls, especially when this can be done at little or no additional cost to anybody.
For very handicapped people, good bus companies provide a door to door van service. This is very expensive and in some ways limiting to the passenger. Good bus companies therefore encourage handicapped people to use fixed route service if they're able to. To do this, they need to be concerned about access to and from the bus stop.
