I was trying to prove a point, nothing more. I don't think any team goes into a race with only one guy who is allowed to go for the win. But it's usually pretty obvious who is "on" that day or who is best suited to the course.
If your point is that the guy who won the race won the race, that's a yes and no. Sometimes you can do it on your own. Sometimes you can't. Go into a race by yourself when the entire field is racing against you once and you'll get that.
BTW a lot of teams go into races with one main guy, pro and am. Better to go in with multiple weapons and don't make it obvious who's "on". If it's obvious to you, it's obvious to everyone else. Start putting a bunch of different guys on the top step and everyone benefits. Well not everyone. Drives the other teams nutty.
