Feel lucky. Back in the day, my roomie and I were paying $1900+ for a 2/2 (no garage, only storage space) in Sunnyvale. The only way you get a cheap mortgage in this area is if you find a mobile home somewhere (don't laugh, the parks in sunnyvale are nice).
