Campy Chorus 08 drivetrain problem.. help?

Ok.. this has been driving me nuts and this place never lets me down with a proper answer.. so here goes:

I had an 80s ciocc that i built with all chorus 08. (brand new chorus). It was really nice, but there was always this slight click that interupted an otherwise smooth stroke. Not even a click.. more like a pedal feeling and a slight slip? Almost like the chain didnt sit on the cog correctly every 2nd-ish crank turn. Really slight but it drove me nuts.

I bought a moots, moved everything there, got a new record chain, cleaned the whole drivetrain out, took apart the derailleure .. etc.. and built the bike. And the evil little twitch in an otherwise smooth rotation is still there. The problem is its only when im riding. It feels so smooth on the stand. It does it with any pedals, greased axels, etc.. so i know thats not it.. the only thing I can think of is I used a master link on the chain that Lickbike supplied with it, but third party. Have those been known to get in the way? Oh, the ccranks spin fine too without a chain, so not that.

Anyway.. it drives me mental.. my bike is so close to perfect except for this little pop in the cranks.. anyone have this happen before?

If you made it that far, i really appreciate it. Any random theories would be welcome.. I am totally out of ideas except to try getting of the masterlink.
