God, that would be useful. Maybe also some kind of system that slowed you down without having to use just as much energy as you used to get going. Lever-operated, maybe?

And just to add to the rant. LBS' continue to astound me. When I brought my '72 Paramount frame in to ask a question about the BB, he told me how sweet a fixie it would make. I'd even told him I had all the original components.

*sigh* I do have a special place in my heart for fixies though.
