Anyway S&W made a deasl to not sell to certain gun shops, work on safety systems that would be more dangerious than no safety. In exchange they wouldn't be sued and would get preferencital treatment in purchasing guns for police. Naturally gun lovers (like me) think of this as a sell out.
S&W was then sold by the English company that owned it and the CEO that made the deal is gone.
