I am not straight edge, although I think I share a few ideologies with those who identify this way. I don't have any problem with this or any way of life that does not force themselves upon others. Unfortunately, I've heard of straight edgers who were quite militant in their beliefs (specific occasions in my neighborhood), and while I know not all straight edgers are like that, I can't help but form a subconscious bias of some sort.

I haven't met any straight edgers recently, but I'd be very happy to meet some folks who identify with this lifestyle to wipe my presumptuous slate clean.
