Armpit Air Vents --I finally closed them

Well the cold weather is here and its that time again where we start bundling up in our layers.

I've been wearing my two layers of wool and a windbreaker jacket and I was sweating when I would get to work. So I opened up my armpit air vents to hopefully reduce the sweating. It worked a bit.... so I just would leave them open....as the days went on, and temps dropped I started getting REAL cold and I couldn't understand why my chest and back were just cold (as wool usually keeps you wet but warm) Anyhow, I noticed the other day the vents were wide open (i had them open for so long I had forgotten about them). I decided to close them up fully (temps are now -10 C).
The result:

I was still sweating just as much.
The cold could still find its way inside through the little spaces between jacket and gloves etc...
But I was warm....wet...but warm.

Bottom line: Arm pit vents are okay up until a certain temp. say 0 to -3 range..beyond that, I found it was better to keep the vents closed.

Just wanted to share my cold air venting story.

I can't wait for spring to arrive though.
