I remember Spirit but not a British band by that name. The Spirit I know is from SoCal with Randy California as the frontman. Twelve Dreams of Dr. Sardonicus is one of my all time favorites!
Had thought they were British because the album pressing I had was British and had never heard of them as a U.S. band. Bummer is that my copy of their album no longer seems to be in my collection. I may have sold it off back in the seventies before I put my collection in storage.
