I have a cheap walmart Schwin bicycle computer that secures to my handlebars perfectly but it doesn;t have a backlight, so I bought a Bell computer that does but i do not like the mount.

I slid the new Bell computer onto the Shwin mount and it fit perfectly and the two metal contact points aligned up perfectly with the computer as well.

To my limited understanding, the wire just delivers a small pulse of electricity to the computer, generated by the magnets and therefore would be interchangeable.

Am I wrong?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
