I was one of the first to encourage him on this forum, so I will respond.

When Ryan first introduced himself and his grand quest, there was enough time. This being the touring forum, I assumed he knew enough about touring to either have the necessary equipment or at least know what it was. Riding to the inauguration was not, at that time, impossible.

If Ryan had stopped by my house that day, I could have lent him nearly everything I thought he needed; and after hanging out with him for a little while, I might well have done so. As for the things he thought he needed, well, I have already addressed that. Had I known then what I know now, I might have responded differently. Indeed, if things were different, things would be different.
