That thing is a beast! Nice Beast though. I thought my FSR at 28lbs was porky (compared to my now dead XC race rig).
I don't feel road riding and spinning helps my pedaling on a MTB or vice versa. I'm a masher on a MTB and a spinner on a road bike. I do feel doing both does help confidence on either bike.
I was MTB riding with a pure roadie once and he was keeping a crazy high cadence on the MTB. I just looked at him and said, "this is all about torque baby and you are going to kill yourself with that cadence".
Enjoy being on the road. I do. That's a really nice road bike you've got there. Enjoy it! Just remember where you came from and don't start being a snob on a road bike.
