Yeah, I was wondering just how much stress the headtube experiences in the course of riding? We think of the b/b being the most highly stressed junction of a frameset, due to pedaling forces. I would guess the headtube would handle road shock from the forks as well as lateral loads from the bike being leaned into turns. Not a good thing if it failed....
