Of course, there may be nothing wrong with your bike and you're just becomming a grumpy old phart

Always a concern and a possiibility.

I've been riding the same bikes and the same way for about 10 years now. This pain is new. I did have some very minor adjustments about 4-5 years ago.

One change has been the spinning class, where one of the exercises they ask you to do is "mud" - where you crank up the friction almost as high as possible, and push really hard against the resistance.

As far as the spinning bike, I had two instructors check it over, and they said the fit was fine.

The thing is, if I am pretty much out of pain while doing the ham strengthening exercises (which I have been for a couple of days now) and continued stretching, then it would seem to me the diagnosis of a muscle imbalance might be right on.

It is too early to tell. If I stay out of pain for a couple of weeks, then I will know more.

Thanks for the input.
