I don't often ride in the rain, but even when I do, I never find myself thinking, "gee, this would be so much more fun with fenders"; I'm just focused on getting home (because I never ride from home in rain). In my opinion, fenders aren't nearly as essential as some would have you think. Give me clean, dry clothes at the end instead.
