Yea, jobst left out the part where he talks about the poor performance of braking on top of a powder coat. He is comparing a bare aluminum surface with one that has had some work done to it, not aluminum vs a plastic/polymer surface.

For what its worth I use ceramic2 rims and they are noticeably better than standard rims.
