While the Valencia is similar to the SOHO 1.0 in several ways, it is also different. Case in point - the forks. Trek upgraded the forks to Cro-Moly steel to add to the bike's streetworthy durability.
I'm enjoying the bike since it blends comfort with speed. Clearly, slower than my road bike but noticeably faster than the converted mountain bike I'd been using. The stock ride position is upright enough to make scanning traffic ahead easy on your back while angled enough so that you gain some decent speed on your descents.
