personally, i would exchange that large u lock and get a smaller one. It would be easier to carry and reduce the chance of using leverage to pop the lock. When i lock up my bike up at school i use the forgetaboutit u lock from krytonite and a cable.


but the u lock is just small enough for a backwheel and a pole. so put the u lock through the pole and thru your rear wheel. and use the cable to lock up the front wheel to the back wheel.

this is the method described by sheldon brown. It doesn't leave much room for leverage.

like everyone else said if someone wants your bike there going to get it. Just be smart about it.
