08 SRAM Force on 'cross bike or for new bike?

I bought an 08 Force gruppo today from a chap who's upgrading to Red. ($600 bucks for the gruppo, which was lightly used on a Madrone with carbon wheels, never seen rain, no visible wear, allegedly just 1000 km -- and I believe it.)

Anyhow, I was planning to put the Force stuff on my titanium TST cyclocross* bike, which currently has the older Ultegra stuff (with octalink bb). Is this SRAM gruppo suited for my 'cross bike -- I am genuinely asking; I'm not being a smart-ass.

*I don't race 'cross. I use the bike as a road bike.

The alternative is to seriously piss off my wife and buy a new road frame specifically for the Force group. (She's probably right that a new frame with its assorted costs is not needed at the present time, especially since her job could be threatened by the recession, which hasn't really hit Canada yet in the way that it has hit, say, England.)

Any helpful advice? Cheers!
