Depressed. I stopped working back in September, right before the financial crisis hit, so that I could take time and do all my college apps. They said they'd probably have a sales slot open around Nov/Dec for me. Now that I'm done (and gotten my college acceptance letter), I figured I'd call up the bike shop and start putting hours in again.

The response was basically "Dude, have you been in here lately? It's completely dead. There are no customers. Given wintertime plus the financial crisis, we don't even know any more. We MIGHT have a spot open around spring."

Definition of 'spring'? "March or April. And even then we'll play it by ear depending on how the economy's looking."

Gah. March or April. That's forever. I miss being around bikes all day, and I miss my employee purchase..

Now I'll have to do something nerdy like become an SAT tutor to save up money. Hooray for spending my after-school days working with bratty lower-upper-middle class Asian kids, in other words, younger versions of myself..
