I've never had that problem because I've never sold a bike. I've given a couple of bikes away, though. If I have one that I haven't ridden in a while and I find someone who could use a bike but doesn't have the means to buy a decent one, I'll usually part with it. But instead of feeling sad, I feel good. Almost like my baby grew up and left home to do something worthwhile.
