I bought a backpacking chair from REI last year. It was the lightest weight one they had and it has a back. I don't remember exactly how much it weighs, I think it is in the 25 to 30 oz range. It rides well on top of the rear rack with the tent and sleeping bag and it is a comfortable chair. It is debatable whether it is needed or not for bike touring. I mostly stay in camp grounds, which most seem to have picnic tables, which I am mostly happy sitting on. Although I was glad I had it in the Boundary Waters.
