I checked out both web sites. The Lacrosse comes from the city in Wisconson and that's where they're located. They have a facility in France, but its for European sales, not the main office. The Maha has an office in the Los Angeles area, City of Industry. I know that area. Lots of Asians, mostly Taiwan, Mandarin speaking. Maha readily admits their products are from Taiwan but I think its really China with some Taiwan involvement.

The La Crosse has a wide variety of products and their atomic clocks and such would be like the stuff you see in a Brookstone. The Maha seems a bit more specific according to some kind of technology, whether its theirs or not.
