In my experience, if a tyre's that hard to get off, it's simply because the bead at 6 o'clock isn't located in the 'trough' in the inside of the rim. It's a bit of a fiddle to locate it properly, but once it's set you should be able to take any tyre off a rim with no more effort than it takes to install the first side of a new tyre.
