Wow, someone else confirms it can't be done and you take offense. Why don't you actually listen to the people who have tried and found it not possible. You know, the 'knowledgeable user' you mention.
Too bad if the knowledgeable user gives you an answer you don't want to hear, but don't be a dick about.
BTW, the head mechanic of the Latvian National team, and for pro team mechanic in Belgium, also found it not possible. I figure that if he can machine me disc brake parts that aren't locally available, and make all his own tools, he could swap the axle to QR if it were possible.....
