Maybe you should get a pair of MKS "mini clips" to help secure your feet on the pedals, that is if the type you bought accepts this accessory. I know you said something about your pedals being "fold down".

This particular supplier says they are out of stock (Perhaps a popular product?), but surely there are other sources that can ship them right away.
