I've learned that I like riding my touring bike better than my road bike . . . period. I particularly like showing up to group roadie events with my touring rig, minus panniers, and wearing full touring regalia (cargo shorts, button down shirt, etc.), and staying with the A group throughout the ride. I also like using my touring rig for errands that I used to run in my car or on my motorcycle. I can fit dinner for five, a library book, and flowers into my panniers, and my morning coffee tastes better on the fly.
