I've had driven Australian Fords as work cars (Taxi's) and have for many years but I've always owned Japanese cars personally. Some of those Fords were absolute pieces of junk which people who said they knew better (Taxi operators) kept on buying anyway although some of them were decent cars. The reliability has always been with the Japanese cars although I agree that some of them weren't perfect. The most reliable car EVER used as a Taxi in Australia was a GM car with a Nissan motor and gearbox but it was never that popular as a Taxi. So much for hard nosed business men. I owned a Diahatsu Charade which travelled 300.000 km trouble free and that was with a 3 cylinder, 1000cc motor. So much for big motors being more reliable.
