I think your comments don't reflect reality. Leaving aside your odd notions about what 'heavier' riders may or may not ride, from my own observations along the Adventure Cycling Association's Atlantic Coast route, PA Bike Route "S", Schuylkill River and Perkiomen trails, the trails between Pittsburgh and DC, and general riding in PA and NJ, the majority of cycle tourists are male. It's not an overwhelming majority, but a decided one.
