Being an ex-Performance/Nashbar employee, I was there when those frames were ordered and tested.
They are sturdy and stiff (aluminum), and the largest tires I got to fit with fenders were 32's. For a cheap
commuter, or CX bike build, it is a good deal. If you don't mind aluminum, go for it.
