Federal minimum wages are supposed to gauge our needs for modest living.. You should take a gander at workers in the maquiladoras in Tijuana, Mexico .. They have your exact same attitude.. No need for parking lots there. But, even there they help arrange company buses to get workers to work, since they don't pay a livable wage.
Then find a better job. If you're not qualified, get qualified (education, etc.)
