I received some of the stuff I wrote about in my bargains post plus other stuff and just wanted to give you a report.
The Shimano shoes from Sierra Trading Post for $39.95 are great. Though the same size as my others, these fit better. Like most Shimano road shoes they will take SPD or Look cleats. Black with medium blue trim. Sierra's note is correct, they seem to run a little large so order 1/2 size smaller than normal. Come to think of it, they might have had two styles on sale. These are the ones with a single hook and loop closure. They were the only ones in my size.
I also got Kool Kovers for Look cleats from Performance Bike. These are good for me, too. When I get to work i have to walk 200-300 feet on hard slick floors. Besides the cloppy sound, the cleats would slide around if I wasn't really careful. These covers are a firm plastic/rubber that gives excellent traction and eliminates the noise. They slip on and off the cleats quickly and easily. I consider them well worth the money and the couple of seconds it takes to slip them on in the morning and off in the evening.
FWIW,
Raymond
