These are now known as the Great Allegheny Passage. Also known as GAP.

We have done the C&O Canal section. It is great. Dirt, rocks, roots Sometimes almost single track, but it has primitive camping almost every 6 miles. A Picnic table, A pump, a porta potty and a fire ring. What more could you want? We have done section of the ATA. It is mostly crushed limestone.
