Actually my chain looked like that Friday, and the shifter wouldn't shift and it was making really ugly noises...twenty minutes with some 3in1 oil and some grease and a nice scotch bright pad and it works/looks just fine now if I could come up with a way to keep the nasty crap they use on the roads off of it...
