no one said you can't. But too many people either love the sport and want a bike twice that price or they do it too rarely to warrant $800. If he wants an $800 bike now, then cool... plenty of good rides out there that'll last for years.

nah, I doubt he'll get much for the panasonic and if it works for him, he should keep it as a back-up/commuter/beater.
