Of course, you may be able to come to terms with your upright bike.
Bents have inherent aerodynamic advantages compared to upright/road bikes, due to having smaller frontal areas (generally). Headwinds are much less annoying on my RANS V-Rex than on any other bike I have ridden and downhill speeds are faster, too.
