On my CrossCheck the rear wheel would slip under heavy torquing. It came with an external cam quick-release. I ended up buying a DT Swiss RWS road skewer and everything seems to be okay.
I heard you can get by with a good old enclosed cam steel QR, but I felt like blowing some money on new technology!!
