It's press-in and lifts off. If you use a knife, be careful, as the metal is very thin. And you don't want to get blood on your bike, either.

I used a spark plug gapping tool, with the flat blades for setting the points, etc on real car engines.
The kind with points, rotors, etc. They are thin, tough, and work.
